We begin each class with a warmup then divide into stations to work on specific basketball fundamentals, using organized drills and games that incorporate dribbling, shooting, passing, rebounding and defense. Once the station rotations are complete, every class ends with a 30-minute scrimmage so the students can immediately apply what they've learned in a semi-competitive environment.

What People are Saying

"Our son Jordan started the After School Hoops program at the age of 7 and we’ve been with Joe and his team the last 2 years continuously. Jordan has learned the foundation of fundamental skills of basketball throughout the program. Joe works on teaching kids by doing drills from shooting to defense. He has a positive attitude to help kids grow on personal development and takes in account there are kids who have age and skill differences. It was been great seeing Jordan’s progression and accomplishments with the game of basketball. We love and enjoy the After School Hoops program!" - Edna C.

"After School Hoops was a wonderful experience for Rachel. We did not expect it going in, but it provided a very healthy boost to her self confidence. The coaches used positive reinforcement to encourage her. She started loving basketball after joining the After School Hoops and many of techniques she learned helped her make the Middle School team." - Manju V.

"Coach Joe and the After School Hoops coaches have drastically improved our son's skill set with basketball. He had never even dribbled a basketball when the first session started. Now, he’s doing great and his confidence is at a new level! Joe has created a fun, safe environment that inspires him to excel. Our son looks forward to hoops every Thursday. We are so proud of him and have Coach Joe and the After School Hoops team to thank!" - Anthony and Dresden C.

"Our son Vince joined After School Hoops almost 2 years ago with no experience other than just shooting the ball in our yard. In a short time he has not only achieved great success on the court but also in his confidence and determination! We can’t thank the coaches enough for helping Vince grow physically as a great basketball player and on the mental side with the ability to stay strong and confident." - Nicole C.
